Great Transportation Resources

U.S.Fish and Wildife Station

We feature a deep water port on the Straits of Mackinac, linking goods with markets in all directions across the Great Lakes and to the world through the St. Lawrence Seaway. Our remarkable commercial harbor needs little dredging due to the powerful current coming from a vast tract of watersheds in northern Michigan and provides protection from high winds from all sides.

Major marine construction companies are located in Cheboygan. The Great Lakes U.S. Fish and Wildlife and Geological Survey operations are headquartered here. Why? Because there is no port with characteristics like Cheboygan’s with a more central location in the entire Great Lakes!

Cheboygan is in the process of further enhancing its potential as your home port for cost-effective shipping of your goods. Contact the Chamber for more information.
Two major highways intersect in downtown. Historic Us Route 23 connect us to points west and east and Route 27 to the south. Interstate 75 features three Cheboygan Exits, all just a short distance from the center of the Cheboygan area.
