NORTH CENTRAL LUNCHEON LECTURE EXPLORES THE MICHIGAN NATURAL RESOURCES TRUST FUND
North Central Michigan College’s Luncheon Lecture will focus on the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund on Friday, October 11 in the Library conference room on the Petoskey campus.
This fund has contributed more than $25 million in grants for projects in Emmet and Charlevoix counties. Steve DeBrabander of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources will explain how the trust fund helps local governments and the DNR acquire land for public parks, trails and other forms of outdoor recreation. Steve is a 32-year veteran of the DNR and Michigan Department of Environmental Quality and currently manages the trust fund along with the Land and Water Conservation Fund, Marine Safety Program, the Recreation Passport Local Grants programs and the Dam Management Grant Program.
