Golf Up North

The Cheboygan area is the home to some the finest golf courses in Northern Michigan. You’ll find courses exciting to play for both the low handicapper and those who want to become one.

So if your vacation plans include hitting the links when you’re not on the water and on the trails of the Great Up North, Cheboygan is fabulous place to headquarter your stay.

Cheboygan Country Club

Since opening in 1922, the Cheboygan Golf & Country Club has built a reputation for offering quality playing conditions to golfers in northern Michigan. The 18 holes of “Championship Golf” are open to the public, and offer the golfer a variety of holes to play. The front nine has a “Scottish” style with rolling mounds and a few trees to contend with, while the back nine features a picturesque northern woodlands design.

The entire golf course is enjoyable to play because it is not overly long and easy to walk. However, the smaller, smooth greens will put an emphasis on your short game making it challenging enough for the most experienced  golfers.

Cheboygan Golf & Country Club is home to the Northern Michigan Open and features a driving range and putting green. The club has a fully stocked pro shop, lounge, and snack shop with a knowledgeable and friendly staff ready to help you take your game to the next level!

Mullett Lake Country Club

Built in 1930 and designed by Tom Bendelow, this nine hole course offers a true test of golf with very small greens and rolling fairways in the traditional style of architects like Donald Ross. It’s close by Mullett Lake in Mullett Village and is open to public.

Mullett Lake Country Club has a pro shop and putting green. It features some really tough holes for the advanced player but is kind to amateurs of all levels with little danger for the short hitter off the tee. It’s a great place to learn the game for visitors to the Cheboygan area.

It’s close by Mullett Lake Marina so you can dock your boat, grab your clubs, and get in a few holes of golf which makes for a great day along the Inland Waterway.

There are 18 golf courses within 30 miles of Cheboygan.
